That’s life.
I’m Glenn. A while back I saw about half of Tommy Wiseau’s 2003 masterwork, The Room. It was love at first sight, but for whatever reason I never got around to seeing the rest of it. So last weekend, my roommate and I went about fixing that and went to a midnight showing. Good news: it was still pretty much the worst movie ever made, in the best way possible. Bad news: I was really tired and slept through part of it, including a pretty big chunk of what I hadn’t seen previously.
But more good news: the entire movie is on YouTube, so I’m now fully caught up… and of the opinion that I need to do something to honor the cultural touchstone that is The Room. The best place to start, to perform that duty: my favorite scene, a.k.a. Me Underwears. The reason this is my favorite scene is simple - the character of Mike.
The reason: Mike Holmes, who played Mike, has an amazing, possibly preternatural ability to always be making a hilarious face. I should know, since I’ve gone back and watched the me underwears scene many times, often stopping to pause at random intervals to see what Mike’s face happens to be doing at that moment. It never disappoints, and I want the world to know about it. So my plan here is to post screencaps of Mike from The Room on a pretty regular basis, in an attempt to show just what kinds of faces this guy is capable of making. You can see one of them above.
